What is Breathwork?
Breathwork is a simple yet incredibly powerful technique for clearing and revitalising our energy system, helping to bring greater harmony on all levels - physical, emotional, mental and spiritual.

By using a simple breathing technique we flush the body with extra oxygen and energy. This naturally begins to re-activate areas in our body and energy system where we had closed down through past stress, fear, pain or trauma- much of which we may be unaware. As these areas are activated suppressed sensations, feelings or memories may rise to our consciousness, where we have a new chance to accept and explore them, as a doorway to healing and great wisdom. If we can open to allow whatever comes up in each moment then we can find our way towards reclaiming our wholeness; to acceptance and honouring of ourselves in all our aspects; towards peace and harmony within; and a much stronger, more radiant sense of self from which to step out into the world. We find greater compassion for ourselves and others.
This work is not about drama or re-living traumatic experiences. It is about freeing us from these in order to live more authentically in each moment. It is around exploring what is true for us in this moment, surrendering ourselves (as much as we can trust) into the innate wisdom of the breath and our bodies to know exactly what is needed in each moment. It is around allowing our bodies and souls free expression for a short time in a non-judgemental, safe and loving environment in order to move towards healing and balance within.

The breathwork experience is different every time.
Sometimes it may be a very quiet, non-physical, internal or even spiritual experience. Other times it may be very emotional, or very physical, but often coming to a close with a sense of relief, openness and new beginnings. Occasionally it may leave you feeling confused or frustrated, but you may find that things gradually fall into place over the next days, weeks or even months- that a new seed of awareness has been planted.
The only thing you can expect is the unexpected!

Breathwork in water (also known as Re-birthing)
Breathwork can be done in a warm pool, heated to just above our body temperature.
This can be an excellent way to work with issues that have arisen from traumas at birth, as the effect of floating in warm water can rekindle a sense of being in the womb (hence 're-birthing').
It also creates a space where a very deep meditative state of mind can be accessed with relative ease and this allows us to link back to anything in our subconscious that is holding us back from living our lives fully in this moment so that we can move forwards into greater peace, joy, clarity and vitality.
If you have access to a large hot tub or small pool that can be heated to around 38 Celsius and would like to try this method then please contact Elizabeth to discuss options for this delightful way of doing breathwork.

Individual Breathwork Sessions
These are offered in Kirriemuir, or by arrangement elsewhere.
The client should wear loose, comfortable clothes for the session, which is held in a safe and supportive environment, where the client is always in control of the session, allowing release and unfolding at a speed and in a way that is best for them.
Normally a course of up to 10 sessions is recommended, however a single session, or a small number may be all that is needed in some instances. A suitable schedule of sessions can be agreed at the end of the first session.
Each session lasts around 1.5 hours and costs £35
(But please allow at least 2 hours for the first session.)
Full Day Workshops
These are held from time to time and offer the opportunity to work both as a 'breather' in your own session and as a 'beholder' in support of others. They offer a group dynamic that is cultivated to be very supportive and powerfully enabling.
If you are in a group that is interested to participate in a breathwork day workshop then please contact Elizabeth to discuss options (subject to sufficient numbers and a suitable venue etc).
